Marine Life is always interesting and mysterious to travel to, i wanted to learn about the marine sea creatures that always makes me wonder how weird they could get, that's why i share them, to learn too.
Yes, i am talking about some of the largest marine sea creatures out there. And you might be right when pointing out that i probably misjudged them for being the largest of their kind when i surely has not seen them all yet. But i do believe them for being what they are, if any of you happens to know larger than what i presented here, you are free to contact me, and i will kindly update my post for everyone, because that sure will make me even more happy, you know? To actually find out there are even larger creature than i already knew, that would have been awesome, in fact, i am waiting eagerly for someone to telling me that, but even i'm sure that for the moment these are it.. These are the current largest, so in the meantime, let's just enjoy the feast for your mind and eyes. Check them out below.
Some people might take it step by step by going from the smaller large creature to the largest one, not me, i will surprise you by ordering them randomly, you will have to judge for yourself which is the largest marine sea creatures by reviewing each and every one of them below.
Oarfish
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Oarfish
The first i would like to present to you is actually more of a longest rather than largest marine sea creature, but hey, it should count too, right? What's real is that the ribbon-shaped oarfish is rarely seen, but when it is seen, it is impressive. At more than 50 feet long, 600 pounds heavy, and with a penchant for lurking near the surface of sea waters when in distress, many believe that oarfish might be the reason behind sea serpent tales of old.
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Oarfish
The best time to catch oarfish is to wait until they are searching for food, since normally they live between depths of 600 and 3,000 feet.
Giant Stingray
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Giant Stingray
Stingrays have been around since a few million years after the dinosaurs died out, and have proven to be a successful design, much like the sharks they descended from. It is the only largest marine sea creature that is shaped roundish, that's for sure.
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Giant Stingray
The giant stingrays use that tried and true ancient design, but have somehow managed to survive ice ages and even the catastrophic Toba event. They were featured on Animal Planet’s River Monsters, and despite the host’s tendency to exaggerate damn near everything, they are incredibly dangerous to fool around with, even if you don’t know you are fooling around with one. They are notorious for putting their neurotoxin covered spike completely through limbs. I guess, on the plus side, if there is one, at least they won’t try to eat you.
Giant Clams
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Giant Clams
The largest mollusks on Earth, adult giant clams permanently affix themselves to surfaces such as sand or coral reef rubble. The behemoths are capable of reaching 4 feet (1.2 meters) long and weighing more than 500 pounds (227 kilograms). They can live a hundred years or more in the wild.
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Giant Clams
Giant clams are hunted for their decorative wavy shells and their meat, which is considered a delicacy. Because they are so massive and sedentary, giant clams must be pried off their ledges with knives or other machinery.
Blue Whale

These giants of the deep are not just the largest marine sea creature, but it is actually the largest animals ever known to have lived, outweighing what scientists believe to be the largest dinosaurs. Thanks to a diet of krill, blue whales can grow more than 100 feet (about 30 m) long and weigh more than 180 tons. At birth, they weigh as much as full grown hippopotami. Their tongues alone weigh more than 2 tons, and their mouths can hold up to 90 tons of food. Interestingly, their throats are so comparatively small they cannot swallow a mouthful larger than a beach ball.

Because of their size and speed, almost nothing can kill a blue whale, and they have no natural predators. Humans, however, have managed to create harpoons large and powerful enough to kill these creatures, the use of which became illegal in 1966 when the International Whaling Commission banned blue whale hunting.
Portuguese Man o’ War
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Portuguese Man O' War
Often mistaken for a jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war is actually made up of a colony of organisms working together. Its tentacles can extend 165 feet (50 meters) below the surface, although 30 feet (10 meters) is more the average, truly another one to consider as longest creatures rather than largest marine sea creature.
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Portuguese Man O' War
The Portuguese Man o’ War can typically be found in tropical and subtropical open oceans. There’s no great reason to want to catch one of these guys, but if you do, a net and metal bucket will help protect you from its venom.
Colossal Squid
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Colossal Squid
At lengths of up to 46 feet, the colossal squid is the world’s largest known invertebrate. But just because it’s spineless, that doesn’t mean it can’t do some real damage. This squid’s lengthy tentacles are lined with teeth-filled suckers and sharp, swiveling hooks.

Since a squid can cut through steel with its beak, trying to catch one is a tricky proposition. They also live in very deep, very cold waters. Luckily, they do like to eat and can be lured closer to the surface with tasty snacks like Antarctic cod.
Whale Shark
Largest Marine Sea Creatures Whale Shark
At more than 40 feet long and tipping the scales at just over 10 tons, the whale shark is larger than a bus and is the largest shark in the sea. Despite the fact that they feed by swimming with their mouths gaped open and swallowing most anything that flows in, these sharks are not aggressive and are not considered dangerous. Divers have even found them playful and say the sharks have let them hitch rides on their dorsal fins. Wow, for us who doesn't fear the dark and unpredictable of the under sea world, we could actually swim alongside this largest marine sea creature.

Because they are so friendly and often let humans swim up and touch them, these sharks can be relatively easy to trap and catch in the tropical and sub-tropical waters where they live.
We all sure know how huge the ocean is, aside from rivers and lakes, even counting oceans alone will determine that this planet earth we live in contains more water than land, scientifically saying it's about 2/3 of the whole planet is filled with water, that is the major reason why i am not sure what i presented here are truly the largest marine sea creatures out there.
You probably think you know or at least you could predicted how unusual the wild marine sea creatures could be. And then you should wait till you see how far beyond your expectations these weirdest marine sea creatures behaviors could go. You wouldn't believe it... Believe me for saying this. And now as you can see in my title, i am going to discuss with you all the weirdness of this one particular marine sea creature, called the sea starfish, as in Spongebob Squarepant's Patrick Star in real life, i mean in real marine life. I will not hide it from you that, right before i posted this article, i don't even know one bit about starfish, all i know is that they move slowly on the ocean floor, didn't even know what or how they eat, wondering probably they eat from the center of the floor facing part of it, where it is potentially having its mouth-like part of its body there. Then i thought it's time to learn, actually the truth is not like this.
Let's be honest, i am talking to myself now, ok.. It was one day in the afternoon, i just stumbled upon the TV, changing from channels to channels, and then i stopped where i saw this television program from national geographic wild, where it discuss marine sea creature's wild life, which i always interested in, and then comes this starfish, they are actually presenting about everything about this unique sea creature, so i sat, i observe, and then here i am sharing it with you all.
Starfish turn out to be well known for their powers of regeneration. An arm can break off as a defensive tactic and grow into a complete new animal. In some species, an arm will pull off purposefully to grow a new animal, serving as a form of asexual reproduction.
Starfish in action
This behavior is certainly fascinating, yet even more fascinating is the many different ways different species of starfish feed. Most starfish are carnivores and feed on sponges, mollusks, bryozoans and ascidians. In species that eat mollusks, the starfish will slowly creep over its hapless victim, say an innocent clam. Its hundreds of tiny tube feet then create a suction cup vice like grip which opens the clam and exposes the soft muscular foot inside. Having no mouth parts to help it eat, it uses its stomach. The starfish expels its stomach into the prey, thus covering the exposed mollusk with its digestive organs. Digestive juices are then excreted and the tissues of the prey are dissolved and literally eaten alive. The digested food together with the stomach is then sucked back in to the starfish.
Weird Marine Sea Creatures Behaviors - Crown of Thorns Starfish
The crown of thorns starfish is one of the largest and most unique starfish species. It can have between 10 - 25 huge arms that all contain venomous spines. Feeding on coral polyps, this menace has destroyed many coral reefs worldwide as its natural predator, the giant triton, has been hunted nearly to extinction for it beautiful shell.

The crown of thorns has interesting feeding behavior that scientists can't clearly explain. At the same time every evening they congregate together, hundreds of them arrive right on time at the designated meeting spot and then on cue of some mysterious signal, they spread out in a massive feeding frenzy, desecrating hundreds of coral colonies in a night.

Star is always interesting, there is star in the sky... and then Patrick Star, the big hollywood star, local star, achievement star, and of course the one we have been talking about the whole time, which is also one who has the weirdest marine sea creature behavior, the sea starfish. For us, it is currently the most interesting stuff, at least for the moment.
